I was at a scrap yard today looking for, you know, "scrap" (trim pieces for my car) and, while I was driving up to the yard, came across this seemingly unrelated lot of cars:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

DAFUQ?

Citroëns are exceedingly uncommon up here in Canada. I've never seen one, running or otherwise, in fact. (edit: not quite true - I just remembered I'd seen a 2CV in good shape cruising around last summer - clearly a show-and-shine car. No Citroën daily drivers though.)

Oh, and here... gratuitous scrap:

Kinja'd!!!

I think the front desk felt sorry for me when all I brought back in was half-busted a tether cover. They insisted it wasn't worth their time to invoice me and just told me to keep it. I also found a dime and a UK 20p coin which I gave to the cashier (being honest and all) and she was quite chuffed, saying she loved foreign coins.

I scored a maplight the same way. Looking for window trim and that's all I found.

The Citroën seems to be solid.... I'm surprised they aren't popular in quebec.

That's an odd SM. American side marker lights but the proper front end.

It's on the north side of Bentley Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario.

If you go to "Kenny U-Pull" (the wrecker I went to) it's less than a block away, on the opposite side of the street. You go into the parking lot and drive around the back of the building, bam, fenced off area.

Nearest address is 149 Bentley.

I wish I had the resources to do it... I don't even have a single garage to put it in. (just a shared driveway, occupied by my daily driver)

:(

Heh. I've seen one Citroën 2CV in Ottawa, clearly a show-and-shine car someone was taking out for a ride last summer. Other than that, they don't seem to get here at all. (we're right on the Ontario/Quebec border here)

Probably an American spec model that a prior owner partially converted to the correct French appearance, some time long before it fell into its present state.

Canadian spec Citroens got the steerable Euro lights from the factory.

I'm assuming the owner of the shop picked up those things (especially the SM and the Merc) as project cars for his own that he hasn't gotten around to (yet.)

I also see the rear quarter of a Nogaro Blue B5 S4 there, too. Heh.

Just tow it. Drop it on the street. Venerate.
